ABOUT JDRF
JDRF is the leading global organization funding T1D research. JDRF’s goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until we achieve a world without T1D. JDRF collaborates with a wide spectrum of partners and is the only organization with the scientific resources, regulatory influence, and a working plan to better treat, prevent, and eventually cure T1D. The Long Island Chapter of JDRF was founded in 1975 by volunteers who were parents of children with diabetes. Operating out of Melville, the Long Island chapter annually serves hundreds of families through our outreach programs such as, Partnering with Parents, Teen Talk, Adults with T1D, and educational seminars. Our outreach program gives all whose lives have been affected by T1D the tools necessary to live well.
